Quaker State expands sponsorship of Trackhouse

Today, Trackhouse Racing and Quaker State announced the extension of their sponsorship and technical alliance that was forged in early 2023.

In addition to primary sponsorship races on the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 driven by Daniel Suárez and associate branding on the Chevrolet Camaro driven by Ross Chastain, Quaker State will be the primary sponsor of Suárez in the NASCAR Mexico Series race at the LA Coliseum on Feb. 4.

Quaker State and Trackhouse Racing announced their initial affiliation at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) in March of 2023. Later in the year, Suárez raced his No. 99 Quaker State Chevrolet to second, his best finish of the season, in the 13th annual Quaker State 400 at AMS.

“I never thought I would have the opportunity to race in the Mexico Series again,” said Suárez. “There are a ton of people who helped me in my career still involved in the series so it will be cool to go back and race with them. NASCAR’s Mexico Series is a great place to learn and over time I think will start producing drivers who will come to America. I cannot thank Quaker State and NASCAR enough for making this opportunity possible.”

NASCAR announced the addition of the NASCAR Mexico Series race at the Los Angeles Coliseum in September. Suárez, who began his stock car racing career in the NASCAR Mexico Series in 2008, is excited to go back to his roots in the inaugural event. Suárez became the first Mexican (Monterrey) driver to win a Cup race when he dominated the Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway race in June of 2022.

“We are extremely happy to announce an increased alliance with Trackhouse Racing in 2024 and the addition of the NASCAR Mexico Series race with Daniel,” said Bree Sandlin, Vice President, Shell Lubricants North America Marketing.

“Trackhouse is a championship-contending team with talented drivers Daniel Suárez, Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen and is stewarded by a fantastic ownership tandem in Justin Marks and Pitbull. This is the perfect match with the energy Trackhouse brings to the sport and Quaker State’s legacy of winning motorsports moments and strong heritage in the Mexico market.”

Trackhouse Racing, which was a single car team in the 2021 season, acquired Chip Ganassi Racing’s NASCAR assets at the end of the year, which enabled the team to expand to two full-time NASCAR Cup Series entries. Trackhouse experienced a breakout year in 2022 under its expansion, with both drivers finding victory lane and the NASCAR playoffs. Chastain again contested for the title by making the playoffs for a second season in 2023 and Supercars Champion Shane van Gisbergen won the Chicago Street Race under Trackhouse Racing’s PROJECT91 programming that gives international racing stars opportunities in NASCAR.

In this expanded agreement with Trackhouse, Quaker State will have branding on all car and driver uniforms throughout the 2024 season. Quaker State will also be the primary sponsor on the No. 99 driven by Suárez at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway in March, Darlington Raceway in May, and the 14th annual Quaker State 400 at Atlanta in September.

“We are honored to continue our relationship with Quaker State and take pride they are one of Trackhouse’s strongest supporters. Not only is Quaker State a good partner on the business side but the expertise they bring to our team when it comes to oils and lubricants that go in our race cars every race gives us an advantage on the track,” said team founder and owner Justin Marks.

The Quaker State brand has a long history with NASCAR and has enjoyed unprecedented success with some of its top race teams. Quaker State motor oil has been in NASCAR drivers’ engines for more than 7 million on-track miles, and more than 170 victories by some of the most-recognized drivers. Quaker State motor oils have helped deliver titles at each of the three levels of NASCAR, including 10 NASCAR Cup Series championships.

Quaker State’s high-quality full synthetic motor oils are specially formulated to deliver strong engine performance and are designed to protect today’s sophisticated engines.
