Ryan Preece returning to SHR for 2024

Ryan Preece has confirmed that he will be returning to Stewart-Haas Racing as the driver of the No. 41 car next season.

Competing in his first full-time season at SHR as the driver of the No. 41 car Preece has best been remembered for a scary crash at Daytona.

“I’m gonna be here with the 41 at SHR next year,” Preece told SXM’s Dave Moody. “I’m definitely looking forward to it, and we’ve made a lot of gains.”

Preece first appeared in the Cup Series as the driver of the No. 98 car for Phil Parsons Racing in select events in 2015. He would join the series full-time in 2019 driving for JTG Daugherty Racing.

After spending the 2022 season as a reserve driver for SHR, Preece was moved into the seat of the No. 41 car with Cole Custer being shuffled back to the Xfinity Series.

In 30 starts this season Preece has one top-five finish, a pole at Martinsville and an average finish of 21.9 on the season. Currently he is 25th in the Cup Series point standings.
