Justin Allgaier is on the pole for today’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.
With a time of 29.188, Allgaier will lead the field to green in the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300.
The driver of the No. 7 Chevrolet will be joined on the front row by Trevor Bayne for the second of three races in the Round of 12 of the playoffs.
With a win at Bristol Motor Speedway a week ago, Allgaier has pushed himself in the next round. While John Hunter Nemechek (+65) and Cole Custer (+39) have to feel good about moving into the next round, the same cannot be safely said for anyone else.
Currently Austin Hill (+21), Chandler Smith (+18), Daniel Hemric (+12), Sammy Smith (+5), and Sheldon Creed (+4) are in position to move on but Jeb Burton (+4), Sam Mayer (-14), Parker Kligerman (-22) and Josh Berry (-24) all will be trying to push themselves into victory lane or awaiting a mistake to secure themselves into the next round at the conclusion of the October 8 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
