An incident at the start of the race would leave Kiko Porto and Jordan Missig out while the cars of Jonathan Browne and Francsco Pizzi were damaged. Salvador de Alba would be given a drive though penalty for contact with Porto on the opening lap.

Reece Ushijima was running in fourth when he went off the track to bring out the caution again and erase d’Orlando’s lead which had grown to over a second.
