Evagoras Papasavvas wins USF 2000 Race No. 1 at Mid-Ohio, Full Results

Evagoras Papasavvas won his first race in the USF 2000 Series claiming the first of three races at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Friday.

The race took place following the first NTT IndyCar practice session of the weekend. Papasavvas earned the pole but blew the checker earning a two place penalty giving Simon Sikes the advantage to start the race with Ethan Ho along side. Papasavvas would get to the lead before the first caution came out on lap 3 after Avery Towns went off track. On the restart Max Garcia, Elliot Cox and Jacob Douglass would all be involved in an incident resulting in another yellow.

Simon Sikes would pressure Papasavvas in the closing laps but was unable to get around. With the second place finish Sikes moves into the points lead.

The series will have two more races on Saturday with the second race at 11:00 am and the final race of the weekend at 4:30 pm.
