Sheldon Creed given penalty for wrecking Sammy Smith at Nashville

On Tuesday NASCAR announced that it had docked Xfinity Series driver Sheldon Creed 25 points and given him a $25,000 fine for intentionally wrecking Sammy Smith during the most recent race at Nashville Superspeedway.

NASCAR determined Creed’s intentional via team audio for the incident that occurred on lap 69. Creed made contact with Smith’s No. 18 car between the first and second turns.

Creed finished continued in the race finishing 17th while Smith was eliminated from the race and finished 34th.

Tanner Gray’s crew chief, Jerame Donely, has been fined $2,500 for having a lug nut loose at the conclusion of the Craftsman Truck Series race at Nashville.
