Braves re-sign Charlie Culberson after vet elected for free agency

Charlie Culberson is back with the Braves on a minor league contract.

Culberson spent a month with the Braves recently but somehow did not appear in a game. The Braves designated him for assignment on Father’s Day, when his father was slated to throw out the first pitch.

After passing though waivers unclaimed, Culberson elected for free agency. Now the 34-year-old is back with the club in hopes of returning to the majors and playing on a game.

The Braves also signed pitcher Seth Elledge to a minor league deal. Elledge spent last season at Triple-A and has appeared in seven major league games, all with the Cardinals.
