A day after besting the field by over a second in practice, Kyle Larson was back at it on Saturday driving his No. 17 Chevrolet around the field.
Larson posted a time of 78.403 in the first round of qualifying besting even his 79.255 from Friday’s practice session to easily lead Group B qualifying. Daniel Hemric was the fastest in Group A. For the final round Larson went a step better posting a time of 78.387. Joining him on the front row will be Justin Allgaier. Sheldong Creed, Aric Almirola and AJ Allmendinger will round out the top-five.
Saturday’s race will mark the first Xfinity Series race at Sonoma Raceway.
The Xfinity Series is running the DoorDash 250 on Saturday afternoon at the 1.99 mile road course of Sonoma Raceway. Television and streaming coverage FS1 beginning at 8:00 pm ET (5:00 pm local) with PRN and SiriusXM having the radio call.
