Ryan Preece dominates ARCA West race at Sonoma, Full Results

Hoping to gain some experience ahead of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway, Ryan Preece entered into the ARCA Menards Series West race on Friday.

The 32-year-old would dominate the General Tire 200 after qualifying on the pole. Preece would lead most of the race, only giving up the lead during a pit stop and then quickly work his way back up to the front to survive multiple late restarts to score his first win in any ARCA Series.

A couple of Xfinity Series regulars would finish behind Preece in Sammy Smith and Riley Herbst with part-time Truck Series driver Jack Wood in fourth ahead of ARCA Menards Series West points leader William Sawalich rounding out the top-five.

Last weeks winner Landen Lewis would finish 19th after being collected in a lap 56 caution. Cole Custer would finish one spot better after mechanical issues affected his car late in the race.

Friday’s race featured six cautions. The ARCA Menards Series West will return to action on July 1 at Irwindale Speedway. FloRacing will have coverage of that race beginning at 10 pm ET, 7 pm local.
