Anthony Alfredo Hard Crash into Turn One at Sonoma after Hung Throttle

A hung throttle send the No. 78 car of Anthony Alfredo hard into the Turn One tire barrier during Friday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series practice at Sonoma Raceway.

BJ McLeod Motorsports will have to pull out a backup car for Saturday’s race.

In audio after the incident Alfredo says the throttle hung and by the time he realized it was too late leading him to wall and then end up in a tire barrier.

 

The Xfinity Series will qualify on Saturday at 3:00 pm ET (Noon local) and then run the DoorDash 250 at 8:00 pm ET (5:00 pm local) with coverage on FS1 (TV/Streaming), PRN and SiriusXM (Radio).

Kyle Larson was far and away the fastest car during Friday’s session finishing with a 79.255 second lap compared to second place Sheldon Creed’s 80.435.
