Nolan Siegel wins Indy NXT Detroit Grand Prix, Full Results

Nolan Siegel won Sunday’s Indy NXT race on the streets of Detroit.

Hoping to avoid the same fate as Saturday, Louis Foster led the field to green and went wide in the first turn to push Christian Rasmussen towards the wall. In doing so Foster left the inside open for Nolan Siegel who took the lead. At the same time all that was happening Kyffin Simpson and Jamie Chadwick made contact resulting in both having to go to the pits for repairs. Simpson would be deemed responsible and got a 30 second stop and go penalty.

Rasmussen would work his way around Foster as Josh Green’s car would make multiple stops for a transponder issue. Ernie Francis Jr. would fall though the field due to a damaged wing. On lap 6 Jacob Able and Reece Gold would make contact with Gold dropping back though the field.

Francis would finally pull his car to the pits to fix his wing on lap 14. The first caution would come out a lap latter when Jagger Jones lost control of his car exiting turn 2. Rasmus Lindh and Christian Bogle would both spin on lap 24 but the race remained green. With seven laps to go Simpson would bring out the caution again after he stopped on the track setting up a two lap shootout.

Siegel would score the win moving within two points of second place finisher Rasmussen in the overall point standings.
