Liam Hendricks throws scoreless inning in rehab outing

Liam Hendricks returned to the field on Friday night appearing in his first rehab assignment since being diagnosed as cancer free.

Hendricks pitched the bottom of the seventh inning for Triple-A Charlotte. In the outing Hendricks threw just nine pitches to retire the side while notching a strikeout.

The 34-year-old figures to get a few more minor league outings before returning to the White Sox later this month.

Entering this season Hendricks has established himself as one of baseball’s best relievers being selected to three All-Star games over the past four seasons. Over the last two seasons Hendricks has notched 75 saves for the White Sox.
