After 33 games, the Oakland Athletics starting rotation has finally recorded a win.
Entering Friday night the Oakland A’s rotation had failed to score a win. That unfortunate streak has finally come to an end with Kyle Muller finally getting one in the win column for the A’s rotation.
Even after the win it’s worth nothing that there has not been a lot of winning for the A’s this season as they are 7-26 on the season.
Muller hardly put in a quality outing as he did allow five runs on eight hits in his 5 1/3 innings of work. Fortunately the A’s offense had an outburst scoring 12 runs to defeat the Kanas City Royals. How surprising was the A’s offense? They had scored just 11 runs over their last four games.
How bad has the A’s been this season? They have been outscored by 121 runs, of course the team second on that list is the Royals who are sporting a -69 run differential after Friday.
Muller was acquired by the A’s this past December in a three team trade with the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers. Ultimately Muller came from the Braves with Sean Murphy goes to the Braves and Wilson Contreas heading to the Brewers.
