Sanchez began the race on the pole and claimed the first stage. During the stage break teams were allowed to work on their trucks without the fear of losing any positions on pit road. Sanchez would return to the track and win the second stage for his second career stage win.
A red flag came out on lap 146 following a crash at the exit of turn four. Dean Thompson had almost come to a stop when he was hit by Matt Mills and then Trey Hutchens.
The return to green would be brief as Daniel Dye would spin on lap 157 while trying to avoid Taylor Gray who had gotten into the wall. The trucks would return to caution before a green flag could be run after Matt Crafton got into the wall forcing overtime.
In overtime Lawless Alan would go around extending the race. In the end Carson Hocevar was scored the winner after Sanchez was wrecked after taking the white flag.
