Dean Thompson taken by ambulance to area hospital following Texas crash

A crash on the front stretch at Texas Motor Speedway resulted in Dean Thompson being taken to an area hospital by ambulance. FOX Sprots showed Thompson being placed on a stretcher prior to being loaded into the ambulance.

The other drivers involved in the crash were able to make their way to the infield care center.

Thompson was in the outside wall and as he crept down the track was hit by the truck driven by Matt Mills. Following the hit by Mills, Thompson was then hit by Trey Hutchens.

As a result of the crash the Speedy Cash 250 was red flagged with 145 of the 167 laps complete.

Nick Sanchez who began the race on the pole and won the first two stages was the leader at the time of the red flag.
