Clint Bowyer to drive Davey Allison’s Black No. 28 prior to Talladega race

Talladega Superspeedway will honor Davey Allison prior to the April 24th running of the Geico 500 with a special on track ceremony featuring Clint Bowyer.

Bowyer, a two time winner at the track, will drive a black and red No. 28 car for a ceremonial lap before joining Mike Joy in the broadcast booth to call the race.

Of Allison’s 19 career wins in the Cup Series, three came at Talladega including his first career win in 1987. Allison also won three ARCA Menards Series races in a row from 1983-1984 and added a win in the 1992 International Race of Champions race at the track.

Bowyer is hardly a slouch himself at Talladega with two of his 10 career wins in the Cup Series coming at the famed track.
