The NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway ran into the same issue that the Xfinity Series race had a day before; rain.
After the start of the race was pushed back due to a shower at the paperclip shaped track earlier in the day, the Blue Emu 500 made it just 42 laps before rain again forced cars off the track.
Denny Hamlin was scored as the leader of the race at the stoppage. The race saw three lead changes with polesitter Joey Logano second at the stoppage. Cars were only under green for 18:48 according to NASCAR’s official timing system.
The NASCAR Cup Series running of the Blu Emu 500 at Martinsville Speedway will resume at 4 pm ET. Since prerace activities have already taken place racing will resume once cars roll off pit road and pace laps take place.
Fans wanting to double down on NASCAR can also tune into the conclusion of Xfinity Series Cook Out 250 at noon.
Both races will air on FS1.
