Roger Bernadina has opted to remain with the Kia Tigers of the Korean Baseball Organization.
Bernadina, 33, had been rumored to be eyeing a return stateside but it appears the outfielder did not generate the interest he desired and has opted to accept a $1.1 million contract to remain with the Tigers, the reigning KBO champions. Last seaosn he hit .320 with 27 home runs while amassing 32 stolen bases, 111 RBI and a league best 118 runs scored.
Also returning to the Tigers are Hector Noesi who won 20 games last year. He signed for $2 million with the Tigers. Pat Dean has also opted to remain with the Tigers and will be paid $925,000.
Noesi led the league in innings and tied with 20 wins. His big league career was parts of five seasons in which he 12-31 with a 5.30 ERA. He last pitched in the major leagues in 2015 with the White Sox.
