Scott McLaughlin led an all Team Penske sweep of the front row in Day 2 qualifying for the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500.
McLaughlin set the fastest pole run in Indianapolis 500 history in besting his teammates, Will Power and Josef Newgarden.
Power was the fastest qualifier in Saturday’s session but McLaughlin was able to top him in the round of 12 and again in the round of 6. Both Power and Newgarden have previously won the Indy 500, something McLaughlin will have his eye on as he starts his fourth race at the famed 2.5 mile track.
Nolan Siegel was the lone driver to miss the race after Katherine Legge, Marcus Ericsson, and Graham Rahal all set faster times than him in last chance qualifying. Rahal avoided the same fate from 2023 in earning the final spot when Siegel got loose and lost control of his Dale Coyne Racing machine.
