The Falcons are interviewing Jerome Henderson for a spot on their staff.
While it was initially reported by some outlets that Henderson was interviewing for the defensive coordinator job, the team announced on Friday that Richard Smith would remain in that position. Instead Henderson is interviewing for a different position on the Falcons staff.
It is likely the Falcons attach some sort of “assistant head coach” label on Henderson should he join the team.
Dan Quinn overseas the Falcons defense so much of the control there runs though him. The unit was last in sacks last season but was 16th in total defense, 18th against the pass and 14th against the run.
