Mike Pettine likely coaching final game for Browns

The Cleveland Browns are expected to move on from head coach Mike Pettine following Sunday’s game with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It has been a rough stay with the Browns for the first time head coach who saw a strong start last season go awry. This season has seen another poor defense on the field and multiple clashes with the front office, mainly over whether or not to play quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Rand Getlin of the NFL Network says the sense within the Browns organization is that Pettine will be fired following Sunday’s game.

Pettine likely expected better from the Browns this season but the team was never going to be serious with Josh McCown listed as the starting quarterback after camp.

The Browns firing of Pettine has been expected for weeks but the bigger question is whether or not the team will finally move on from general manager Ray Farmer who has provided little to no talent during his tenure with the team.
