The Seattle Mariners have released catcher John Baker.
Baker, 34, was playing at Triple-A Tacoma this season but was not producing hitting a mere .161/.185/.194 on the season in 65 trips to the plate.
Baker has bounced around the majors the last five seasons but has produced very little. Last year he hit just .192/.273/.231 with 15 RBI in 68 games.
While Baker may latch on elsewhere on a minor league deal he is only minor league depth at this point.
