The Phillies are willing to listen to offers for shortstop Jimmy Rollins but apparently have a lofty sense of his value.
ESPN’s Jayson Stark has heard that the Yankees attempted to acquire Rollins but only wanted to give up a “a utility player.”
Rollins is about to turn 36 and is owed $11 million in the final year of his current deal.

The Phillies are going to have to lower their asking price for Rollins if they really want to move him. Gone are the days in which he is an elite shortstop.
Rollins finished the 2014 season hitting just .243/.323/.394 with 17 home runs and 78 runs scored in 138 games. They may find his value higher at the trade deadline when he is owed less money and has had a chance to increase his value.
