The Minnesota Vikings have reinstated Adrian Peterson to their football team following a deactivation period that left him out of action for their Week 2 blowout loss to New England.
Peterson will practice with the Vikings and then play in next Sunday’s game at New Orleans.
On Sept. 13 Peterson was booked on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child and released on $15,000 bond.
According to the attorney for Peterson, Rusty Hardin, the incident “involves using a switch to spank his son.” Peterson is alleged to have used a tree branch to strike his 4-year-old son who had been visiting him in Houston.
Peterson has not spoken publicly since the incident came to light. At the time Sunday’s game was set to kickoff he posted a tweet with some biblical scriptures highlighted.

In the wake of an indefinite suspension handed to Ray Rice by the NFL and Peterson’s deactivation the Carolina Pathers deactivated Greg Hardy for Sunday’s game. Meanwhile San Francisco opted to play Ray McDonald on Sunday night while he faces pending domestic violence charges.
