This is the last season in the career of Paul Konerko. After years of being a regular in the lineup for the Chicago White Sox, Konerko appears fine with finishing his career out as a bit player.
Making just his second start of the season, Konerko went 0-for-4 in Thursday’s 3-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
Konerko is now just 1-for-13 on the season with his lone hit coming in his first at-bat of the season on April 2. Since that time Konerko has not drawn so much as a walk in his limited time which has largely been as a pinch hitter.
