Detroit Lions backup quarterback Shaun Hill is recovering from minor surgery on his foot. Hill had the surgery to repair a “nagging injury” on his left foot according to Detroit Free Press writer Dave Birkett.
The Lions needed Hill for only one game last season. Hill came off the bench to go 10-of-14 for 172 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Tennessee.
Hill, 33, is one of the leagues better backup options should something happen to starter Matthew Stafford and should be ready to go by the time training camp rolls around. His contract with the Lions is up at the end of this season.
