Joey Logano will drive the No. 22 Ford Fusion for Penske Racing next season. Staying on to serve as the crew chief for the car will be Todd Gordon. Gordon took over as the crew chief of the car this season after the departure of Steve Addington.
Logano tweeted Wednesday: “I’m Excited to announce that Todd Gordon will be the crew chief of the Shell/Pennzoil 22 car next year.”
Jason Ratcliff, Logano’s current crew chief, will remain at Joe Gibbs Racing. He will continue his role as crew chief of the No. 20 Toyota next season with incoming driver Matt Kenseth.
Logano won his second career race this season when he won at Pocono. He will replace Sam Hornish in the No. 22 car. Penske Racing is said to be still seeking sponsorship that will allow Hornish to race the full Sprint Cup Series schedule. Currently the plan is for Hornish to race in the Nationwide Series for a second consecutive season.
