Major League Baseball is piling on the Washington Nationals fan base. After the Nationals blew a six run lead in the deciding Game 5 of the National League Divisional Series the worst should have been over for the fans. Instead Major League Baseball stuck it to them again.
As Nats Enquirer points out National fans opened their e-mail inboxes to find offers for World Series tickets.
“It was a stunningly stupid error on our part and we apologize to the Nationals and their great fans,” Bob Bowman, CEO of MLB Advanced Media, told Dan Steinberg of DC Sports Blog.
In fairness the e-mail does say “if necessary” in regards to games one and two.
The Nationals blew a six run lead last night against the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 5 ending their post season run.
