The entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kansas has an unfamiliar number on it. The #79 car of Go Green Racing will be driven by Tim Andrews as he attempts to make his series debut for the team.
While Tim Andrews will be driving the car, another Andrews will be calling the shots as his father veteran crew chief Paul Andrews will sit atop the pit box. The elder Andrews may be remembered by many for being the crew chief of 1992 Cup Series Champion Alan Kulwicki.
The car will be sponsored by BBI / Bestway Disposal and was purchased from Roush Fenway Racing so it will feature the FR9 engine.
“I have dreamed about being in a Cup car and to do it with my father’s help is unbelievable. I believe in him and he believes in me, it just gives us that much more confidence. I’ve raced at Kansas before and can’t wait to go back”said Tim about getting the chance to drive the car this weekend at Texas.
Dating back to 2009, Go Green Racing has run 56 NASCAR Nationwide races but has yet to place inside the top-10.
