Clint Bowyer’s 2012 plans to race at Michael Waltrip Racing will become official with an announcement Friday at Kansas. Bowyer had previously spent his entire NASCAR career with Richard Childress Racing.
RCR opted to part ways with Bowyer citing hard to find sponsorship dollars. At MWR the car driven by Bowyer is expected to be schemed with the colors of 5 Hour Energy for as many as 20 races next season. Previously they had sponsored Rusty Wallace Racing in the Nationwide Series.
Bowyer, a native of Kansas, has 4 career victories in the Cup series.
