Still no real contender to Johnson

Denny Hamlin kept the #48 of Jimmie Johnson in his sights Saturday night but by doing so further fell behind the 4-time Champion in this years points race.

Hamlin finished the race a respectable 4th but that was one spot behind the Chevrolet of Johnson who lengthened his points lead to 41.

Kyle Busch had a great run but even his second place finish only moved him to 177 points back of Johnson. Busch did however leap over 4 other drivers in the standings but its the points not the points position behind Johnson that will be too much for him to overcome.

His brother Kurt saw his Championship hopes slip away with one spin and Jeff Gordon struggled with power.
