Wade Phillips will interview with the Redskins this coming week for their vacant defensive coordinator position.
Phillips, 67, sat out of football this season after being fired by the Texans after he had been promoted to interim head coach.
As a head coach Phillips has struggled but as a defensive coordinator he has been very successful in his career. His days of being a head coach are gone but if a team such as the Redskins want to bring him on in a lesser role they certainly will not find many better options.
Under Phillips the Texans were a top ten defense from 2011-2013.
This is an interesting one. Wade Phillips will interview for the #Redskins defensive coordinator opening this week, source says.

The Redskins will also interview 49ers defensive backs coach Ed Donatell on Wednesday and have requested to interview 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
