Chicago Bears wide receiver Josh Morgan was arrested around 1:30 am Sunday morning after he allegedly punched a parking valet outside a Washington, D.C. nightclub.
It was just a month ago that Morgan signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears. The Bears released a statement that they were aware of the situation via Bears.com.
“We are aware of Josh Morgan’s presence at a weekend incident in Washington, D.C.,” the Bears statement read. “We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the event.”
Morgan denied that the incident took place, telling the NBC-TV affiliate in Washington, D.C.: “I know I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t touch him. I’ve always been a standup guy in the community. I’ve always been a standup guy period. Everybody knows me. Everybody knows how I am. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. What a coincidence that now I signed with the Chicago Bears, now all of a sudden it happened.”
In 79 career games, Morgan has caught 199 passes for 2,488 yards and 11 touchdowns.
