Earl Thomas has landed a new contract from the Seattle Seahawks which will make him the NFL’s highest paid safety.
Thomas, 24, was the 14th overall pick of the Seahawks in the 2010 NFL Draft. Since then he has gone on to record 15 career interceptions, five forced fumbles and 32 pass breakups. In his four-year career he has already been an All-Pro once and a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Thomas was set to make $4.725 million in the final year of his old deal. His new extension calls for him to make $40 million over the four seasons beginning with 2015. Thomas is guaranteed $27.725 million.
