James Starks seeking starting job as he enters free agency

James Starks will turn 30 next month but the running back will enter the free agency period seeking a starting job.

Stars rushed for 601 yards (4.1 avg) while adding 392 yards receiving and five total touchdowns during the Packers 2015 campaign. The numbers were career bests for Starks who also fumbled five times.

“Opportunity is all I need,” Starks said via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “Could I be a starter? Yeah. Can I handle it? Yeah.”

Starks will also consider jobs which give him an opportunity at another Super Bowl ring.

“But I’m good in any position I play. I’m a team player. I just want to be successful. I want to win another ring.”

There is no shortage of talent at running back available this coming offseason so the chances any team would make Starks their lead back are slim. He figures to get interest as a back-up.
