Chip Kelly has been named the head coach of the 49ers. Kelly becomes the 20th different head coach of the 49ers after landing the job over Mike Shanahan.
Kelly spent the last three years as the head coach of the Eagles after a successful run at Oregon from 2009-2012.
One of Kelly’s big failures with the Eagles was talent evaluation but after being fired he said he would prefer to simply coach in the NFL instead of attempt to be both a coach and a general manager. Kelly figures to have the final ruling on whether or not Colin Kaepernick sticks with the 49ers for teh 2016 season.
