Dwayne Bowe will not play in the Cleveland Browns season opener against the New York Jets.
Bowe, 30, is dealing with a hamstring issue which has bothered him all preseason.
There had been hope that Bowe would play after he played into the third quarter of the Browns third preseason game.
Bowe caught 60 passes for 754 yards last season while with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Andrew Hawkins and Brian Hartline are listed as the Browns starter. With Josh McCown under center the Browns likely will struggle to move the ball against the Jets defense.
