The New York Giants do not like their head coaches to enter a lame duck season and in turn have given Tom Coughlin a one-year extension.
Coughlin gets one more year added to his contract this season which mirrors what the Giants did last year.
The Giants need to get back to the playoffs for the extension to mean anything. The Giants return with Ben McAdoo for his second season this year while Steve Spagnuolo returns to try and fix the defense.
