Matt Forte had at-least a reason to smile following loss to the Vikings. The loss dropped the Bears to 5-11 on the season which results in a last place finish in the NFC North.
Forte went over the 1,000 yard mark early in the game and later tallied eight receptions for 23 yards to set a new mar for receptions out of the backfield.
Long known as one of the NFL’s better receiving targets out of the backfield, Forte finishes the season with 102 receptions breaking the 1995 mar set by Larry Centers.
There seems to be a trend with this record. Much like the Bears of this season, the Cardinals of 1995 were not very good either finishing 4-12 on the year.
The 29-year-old Forte is owed nearly $8 million for the 2015 season. The Bears are in flux but should have no problem finding a way to keep him around.
