Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowsi to be limited on Sunday

The Patriots have nothing to play for in Sunday’s regular season finale against the Bills.

Already assured of home field advantage throughout the playoffs the Patriots figure to play few of their starters in an effort to avoid injury.

After narrowly escaping with a win in Wee 16 against the Jets, the Patriots are expected to to have quarterback Tom Brady play the first half of Sunday’s game. Likewise tight end Rob Gronkowski will receive “little-to-no playing time” according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.

Fantasy Impact: Few fantasy leagues – outside of daily formats – run into Week 17 but if you are still looking for offensive options avoid both of these players. The Bills pass defense has been among the NFL’s best all year and expecting Brady to put up huge numbers in one half is unrealistic. It is quite possible that Gronkowsi puts up zero’s across the stat sheet.
