The Browns kicking game has been a mess this season so an injury suffered by Billy Cundiff in practice on Thursday may not be the worst thing.

Cundiff, 34, had missed a field goal attempt in each of the last five games and is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s affair with the Bengals.

Earlier this week the Browns worked out Garrett Hartley, Zach Hocker and Nate Freese so the injury to Cundiff may be the tipping point in a change at the position. Punter Spencer Lanning could also taking over kicking duties if necessary.

“I take great pride in my competitiveness I really do,” Cundiff said via the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I feel like that’s what’s helped me throughout my time in the league but when it comes to hypotheticals, I think we’ll leave that to the head coach.”

On the season Cundiff is 22-of-29.
