After getting hit with a slue of injuries in recent weeks the Arizona Cardinals got a bit of good news on Friday.

An MRI revealed that quarterback Drew Stanton had suffered a sprained right knee and was week to week.

The injury to Stanton occurred during Thursday night’s 12-6 win over the Rams when defensive lineman Aaron Donald sacked the quarterback with 8:41 left in the third quarter. Stanton was helped up and hopped off the field on his left leg. After being looked at on the sideline he was taken to the locker room and then ruled out of the game.

Stanton’s exit from the game forced third-year Ryan Lindley into the game. Lindley made his first regular season appearance since the 2012 season in which he threw seven interceptions. He had been signed off the San Diego Chargers practice squad following the ACL tear of Carson Palmer.

Whether it will be Stanton, Lindley or rookie Logan Thomas under center for next Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks remains to be seen.
