Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Houston Texans first round pick Jadeveon Clowney said that his knee was still a issue.

“It’s just not where it needs to be right now,” he said. “We’re taking a step back and trying to get it to where we need it be so I can play.” said Clowney.

“It was pretty much both, the knee and I was sick,” he said via the Houston Chronicle. “I was out. I didn’t get to practice at the end of the week. I was at home sick.

“I don’t know what I had, but it wasn’t good. I’m feeling better. The knee is getting better.”

Clowney was said to be sick leading up to last weekends loss to Philadelphia.

As talented as Clowney is, the Texans have to be getting frustrated with his inability to be on the field. There is hope he will be able to practice following this weeks bye.
