Tony Romo injured against Redskins, returns in fourth

tonyromoUPDATE: Romo returned in the fourth quarter with just under two minutes left on the game clock in a 17-17 game.

Trailing 10-7 the Dallas Cowboys saw quarterback Tony Romo go down after a sack by Keenan Robinson.

Romo took a knee to his back and was helped off the field by trainers after staying down during a commercial break.

The injury to Romo could force the Cowboys to insert Brandon Weeden into the game. Weeden was signed in the offseason as Kyle Orton was released while considering retirement.

Romo was helped to the locker room a few moments after a punt.

In Week 16 last year Romo suffered a back injury and had to undergo back surgery.
