The NFL has fined Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict for deliberating twisting the ankles of Carolina Panthers players Cam Newton and Greg Olsen during their Week 6 tie.
Burfict was caught on camera twisting the ankle of Olsen following a touchdown catch and was also seen twisting the ankle of Newton in the game. The NFL announced earlier in the week that they would look into the matter and now has handed Burfict a $25,000 fine.
Both Newton and Olsen have been dealing with ankle injuries. Newton had offseason ankle surgery while Olsen had been hobbled leading up to Sunday’s game.

While Burfict avoided a suspension of any games and the fine is low, he has taken a beating in the PR department.
