The contributions of running back Toby Gerhart to the Jacksonville Jaguars are unlikely to grow this weekend after the running back suffered a setback in practice to his injured foot. UPDATE: Gerhart ruled out for Sunday.
Gerhart went from “full” participation to DNP on Thursday.
“It’s frustrating,” Gerhart said on Wednesday. “I was brought in here to help and make a difference and so far I probably haven’t done it. We’ll get there.”
Storm Johnson is the favorite to lead the Jaguars in carries against the Tennessee Titans.
Gerhart played just 10 snaps last week against Pittsburgh after he aggravated the foot injury. On the season Gerhart has rushed 48 times for just 123 yards and a touchdown. Gerhart’s 2.6-yard average is 47th in the NFL out of 49 qualifiers with 30 or more carries.
