Jake Locker listed as questionable, Zach Mettenberger waiting for game action

Jake Locker knows he needs to do anything possible to stay on the field for the Tennessee Titans if he wants to start again this season. The quarterback is questionable with a hand injury and after practicing little this week appears to be headed to the bench.

Charlie Whitehurst is expected to start for the Titans on Sunday with rookie Zach Mettenberger waiting in the wings. The 32-year-old Whitehurst is nothing more than a journeyman backup. In two games Whitehurst has completed 56.8-percent of his passes for 371 yards and three touchdowns while tossing an interception.

Should Mettenberger find a way to get on the field the Titans will likely choose to ride out and see what he brings.

In a contract year and with a injury reputation the Titans career of Locker is coming to an end.

Another concern for the Titans on Friday was that running back Shonn Greene missed practice. He is unlikely to play against Jacksonville on Sunday leaving Bishop Sankey to get the full range of reps.
