Former Ravens running back Ray Rice will appeal his indefinite suspension from the NFL on Monday.
According to ProFootballTalk, Rice will allow the NFLPA and an outside lawyer handle his appeal.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will have the final authority over the appeal. Whether or not Goodell hands over his authority in the appeal process remains to be seen.
The matter will boil down to whether or not Rice told the NFL the truth, which Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome recently said was the case.
Even should Rice see his suspension overturned it is doubtful that he returns to the football field. Already in decline there is not enough there for a team to take the public relations night care that will result from signing Rice.
