The Patriots acquisition of Tim Wright on Tuesday has nothing to do with the status of Rob Gronkowski to start the season.
While the two players are both listed as tight ends that is where the similarities stop.

Gronkowski plays on the line at 265 pounds while the 220 pound Wright will be moved around in a role similar to the one played by Aaron Hernandez.
As a rookie last season Wright caught 54 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns.
