Cardinals cut kicker Jay Feely

The days of kicker Jay Feely in Arizona are over.

On Monday the Cardinals released the 38-year-old following his miss of a 48-yard attempt in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

With Feely off the team the Cardinals will rely on undrafted free agent Chandler Catanzaro as their kicker. Catanzaro is cheaper and has shown a strong leg on kickoffs.

Feely was 30-of-36 for the Cardinals last season. Some will quickly attempt to link him to Denver who will begin the season without Matt Prater.

The Cardinals also cut Ryan Lindley.

Lindley entered camp as fourth on the depth chart at quarterback and made no waves this preseason appearing in just one game going 8-of-15 for 64 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. In his career he has made four starts since being selected in the sixth-round of the 2012 draft. During that time he has zero touchdowns and seven interceptions.
